Dr. Jessica Johnston
Dr. Jessica J. Johnston is a graduate of LSU School of Dentistry. After graduation, she completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the V.A. Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. She grew up in Monroe and attended Neville High School. She is happy to be back home practicing dentistry with her mother, Dr. Jan Bagwell. Dr. Johnston is an active member at Christ Church in West Monroe and participates in mission trips throughout the year. She is involved in Bible Study Fellowship, Young Life, and Neville Alumni and Friends Association.
Dr. Brent Charles Alexander

Dr. Brent C. Alexander is a dedicated dentist based in Monroe, Louisiana, committed to helping patients achieve and maintain lifelong oral health through personalized, compassionate care. He provides expert guidance on proper brushing, flossing, gum health, and preventive treatments designed to keep smiles bright and healthy. Dr. Alexander believes in building lasting relationships with his patients through trust, education, and routine care—encouraging biannual visits to ensure early detection and effective treatment of dental concerns.
A proud graduate of the LSU Health Sciences Center School of Dentistry, Dr. Alexander earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree, where he refined his skills in both clinical and cosmetic dentistry. Before dental school, he completed his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences at Louisiana State University, where he was actively involved in the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, the LSU Pre-Dental Society, and the Interfraternity Council—developing leadership and teamwork that now inform his patient-centered approach.
With a strong foundation in preventive care and a genuine passion for community wellness, Dr. Alexander is dedicated to helping patients of all ages achieve confident, healthy smiles.
Dr. Jan T. Bagwell (Retired)
After more than 39 years of dedicated service, Dr. Jan T. Bagwell has retired from dentistry. Throughout her career, Dr. Bagwell faithfully served the Sterlington community with integrity, compassion, and a commitment to excellence. Her genuine care for patients and unwavering professionalism have left a lasting legacy that continues to inspire both colleagues and the many families she cared for over the decades.
Kimberly Cole Englerth, Registered Dental Hygienist
Kim attended the University of Louisiana at Monroe and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene in 2004. She also gained a certification in Anesthesia. She joined the team at Jan T. Bagwell, DDS in 2007 as a registered dental hygienist. Today, she lives in Farmerville with her husband, Will, and her two children, Kate and Emme.
Miranda Luffey Breard, Registered Dental Hygienist
Miranda attended the University of Louisiana at Monroe and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene. She began working as a registered dental hygienist at Jan T. Bagwell, DDS in 1998. She now lives in Monroe with her husband, Danny and their children, Mary Kathryn and Daniel.
Sharon Crumley, Office Manager
Sharon has been with Dr. Bagwell since 2017. She lives in Sterlington, La with her husband, Mark, of 26 years and their three children, Victoria, Katherine and Nicholas. Sharon enjoys spending time with her family and grandson Porter.

Alicia Thomas
Alicia attended Northeast Louisiana University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene in 1999. She joined our team in 2018. Alicia lives in Monroe. She enjoys traveling and
spending time with her friends and family, including her twin daughters, Madison and Madeline.

Office Policies
Appointments
We kindly request all patients arrive for their appointments on time so that we can stay on schedule. If you are more than 15 minutes late, we may have to reschedule your appointment so we can attend to other patients. If you need to cancel your appointment for any reason, please just give us 24-hours advance notice.
Insurance & Payment Options
We require that payment be made at the time of treatment, and we will always work to make sure that you are informed of costs before you receive treatment, so you won’t be caught off-guard.
We accept cash, check, and credit (Visa, MasterCard and Discover). We also offer financing plans through CareCredit. We will work with you to determine a payment option that is right for your budget, and we will also will submit your insurance claim.
